Powering On and Off the Device
-
Power On: Hold the power button for 3 seconds. The device should power on.
- Troubleshooting: If the device does not power on, plug it in to charge, wait for 5 minutes, and try again.
-
Power Off: To conserve battery life, especially during transport, completely power off the device when not in use.
- How to Power Off: When the device is on, hold the power button and select "Power off."
Connecting to a Network
-
Network Setup: Upon powering on, the device may prompt you to connect to a network. Select the desired WiFi network, enter the password if necessary, and press “Continue.”
- Important: Avoid using the main school WiFi due to potential bandwidth issues. It is recommended to connect to a password-protected, private network with minimal firewall and security settings that could interfere with the device’s functionality.
- IT Consultation: Consult with your IT administrator to ensure the device is connected to an appropriate network that supports seamless operation.
- Different Networks: While you can set up the device on one network and use it on another, it’s advisable to keep the device on the same network intended for payments to prevent conflicts. For locations with multiple networks (e.g., football stadium vs. main school building), this may be necessary.
- Stable Connection: Ensure the device is connected to a stable network with consistent connectivity and minimal external traffic during payment processing.
- Hotspot Option: Consider purchasing an i2 Hotspot if the operating location lacks consistent internet access.
Software Updates and Application Launch
- Automatic Updates: The device will check for i2 software updates upon startup. Ensure that devices are powered on at least 30 minutes before an event to avoid any operational delays. Ideally, power on the device hours in advance.
-
Application Launch: After completing any updates, the i2 POS application will automatically launch.
- Troubleshooting: If the i2 POS does not launch, restart the device by holding the power button and selecting “Restart.” If the issue persists, contact support.
Initial Setup within i2 POS
-
Select Your Company: The first screen displayed will show "Your Company." Click on it to proceed.
- Troubleshooting: If your company is not listed, or another company is displayed, contact support immediately. Do not operate the device under the wrong company.
-
Connect a Reader: The screen will prompt you to “Connect a Reader.”
- i2 Terminal: The reader is built into the device and is listed as a “Tap to Pay” reader. Select “Tap to Pay.”
- Troubleshooting: If the reader fails to appear after loading for a minute or two, restart the device and try again. If connection issues persist, restart the device once more and repeat the process.
Event Selection and Sales
-
Select an Event: After connecting to the reader, select the active event. If the selected event is expired, switch to a new event.
- No Available Events: If no events are available, you will not be able to proceed. To set up events, log into the i2 portal and configure your event settings. Contact us if you need assistance with this process.
-
Ready to Sell: Once an event is selected, the device is ready for sales. If you encounter issues, restart the device by holding the power button and selecting “Restart.”
- Sellable Products Setup: Ensure you have set up sellable products for the event in the i2 portal. If you do not have an i2 portal admin account to manage your pricing and products, contact us at info@i2enterprises.net to schedule a setup meeting.
